Paragon Fundraiser
100% of the profits from Paragon pre-orders through February will go to support communities in Minnesota.
A note from Kate Goodwin
I chose Minnesota as Paragon’s backdrop because it’s a place built by people who arrived with little and made something enduring, a city shaped by arrivals, departures, and the work of belonging.
As I’ve prepared for this book’s release, what’s happening in Minneapolis—families living under the threat of separation and children bearing fear too early—has weighed on me. It’s impossible to write about who gets to stay without feeling the present alongside the past.
In Paragon, immigration isn’t a metaphor—it’s a lived reality: fae immigrants are welcomed for their labor, then blamed or erased when inconvenient. That tension is central because it echoes our own history and our current moment.
In solidarity with the families hurt by these raids and the neighbors protecting them, the preorder profits through February will be donated to trusted local organizations providing direct legal support and rapid response in Minnesota.
Stories can’t fix everything—but they remind us who we’re responsible to. If you choose to support this campaign, thank you for standing with the story and the community that shaped it.

Kate Goodwin
After a decade in corporate PR telling other people’s stories, Kate turned to her own—crafting folkloric romantasy inspired by overlooked historic places. She writes from her house in the woods of the Midwest, where her children roam, her garden runs wild, and her bourbon shelf is rarely empty.
